Washington Township Public Schools is Hiring a Special Education Assistant 1:1 F/T - AST-0249 Near Sewell, NJ
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in mathematics and ability to communicate fluently in English, verbally and in writing
- Ability to demonstrate basic tech skills on computers, tablets and laptops
- Ability to work well with other assigned staff to establish a positive learning environment for students
- Ability to work successfully with students with various disabilities
- Ability to physically perform job duties including standing, walking, running, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
- Ability to lift or move 40 pounds
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of students’ information
- Willingness to fulfill the specific performance responsibilities of the position as they relate to individual students’ needs
- Evidence of good moral character as determined by reference checks, fingerprinting review and observation
- Ability to work successfully with children with disabilities
- Willing to be trained in CPS and Crisis Prevention
- Ability to provide academic and physical support to students with disabilities as directed by the classroom teacher
- Computer proficiency
- Experience with school-age students
