TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANT

QUALIFICATIONS

Such qualifications as the Director of Schools and Technology Director deem appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO

Technology Director

JOB GOALS

Assist the Technology Director in the implementation of the district's Technology Training/Support Plan, and ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the district network.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Install software and hardware updates and improvements.
  1. Provide assistance and technical advice in hardware and software installation.
  1. Assist local schools and departments in program and implementation of existing hardware in a reasonable amount of time without unreasonable complaints.
  1. Provide technical assistance on the instructional/administrative uses of technology devices to staff, schools, and sites in a reasonable amount of time without unreasonable complaints.
  1. Provide technical and curriculum assistance regarding hardware usage, software applications, computer technology, and the general instructional use of technology in the classroom in a reasonable amount of time without unreasonable complaints.
  1. Provide on-site technological consultation to schools and departments in a reasonable amount of time without unreasonable complaints from staff.
  1. Provide network support, including installation of network hardware, software, and systems in a reasonable amount of time without unreasonable complaints.
  1. Provide preventative maintenance, repair, and safety procedures for school sites and districts in a reasonable amount of time without unreasonable complaints.
  1. Participate in the training center support network which includes attendance at district technical site support meetings.
  1. Assist with development of, and participate in, technology staff development.
  1. Maintain all data and records on the help desk system and prepare reports.
  1. Update personal technological knowledge and skills.
  1. Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This job may require lifting of objects that exceed 40 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighting up to 20 pounds. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows:

  1. Carrying and transportation computer equipment.
