Walman Optical is Hiring an Accounts Receivable Clerk II Near Minneapolis, MN

We currently have a full time opening for an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk in our Corporate Finance Dept. This is an excellent opportunity to join our team! We are located close to downtown Minneapolis, with free parking available!

Job Summary

Perform tasks required for an accurate Accounts Receivable System. Set up new accounts daily and maintain customer master file. Make daily bank deposits for customer payments. Perform customer service duties as needed. Perform collection duties on a daily basis. Train new department members and backup for other A/R Clerk tasks.

Duties:

  • Investigate and resolve customer inquiries concerning merchandise, service, discount, billing, or credit issues. Frequent customer contact by phone to provide account information and accept credit card payments.
  • Work with the team to research and prepare checks from customers and post payments to customer accounts.
  • Maintain accurate customer files; set up new accounts after credit approval and make changes to existing accounts.
  • Perform collection calls on past due balances.
  • Third Party Reconciliation/thousands of claims per month. Unpaid or underpaid invoices must be reviewed and resubmitted.
  • Various other A/R functions.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Two year degree and a minimum of three years relevant work experience in a fast paced environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent keyboarding skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook; familiarity with accounting applications.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instruction and adhere to schedules.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Must be able to manage varied duties with varied overseers.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish a plus, but not required.
