We are currently seeking an employee to fill the Assistant Gardener position and ensure the beauty of our park with daily upkeep and landscaping. This individual will be working in all areas of the Amusement and Water Park such as the Midway, picnic areas, train tracks, fence perimeter, and parking lots.

Job Functions:

• Able to work throughout the spring, summer, and fall with cleanups, weeding, mulching, pruning, trimming, planting annuals, watering, and overall maintenance
• Knowledge of annual plants
• Planting and maintaining over 50 gardens and planters throughout the park’s grounds
• Able to give tours to local garden clubs on Wednesdays when the park is closed
• Able to work on a ladder
• Maintain professionalism and a clean working environment

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old on the date of applying
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work

Additional Qualifications:

• Must have own pruners, knee pads, and any other necessary small tools
• Must be able to work well with others and independently
• Must be self-motivated to perform all aspects of the job
• Must adhere to Waldameer’s policies as stated in the Employee Handbook

Working Conditions:

• Expected to be available to work from March to November
• Shift times may vary
• Flexible scheduling
• Employees are subject to a variety of weather conditions such as extreme heat, sun exposure, cold, and inclement weather
• Physical requirements include bending, kneeling, stretching, climbing, lifting 5 lbs. consistently
