We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Permitting Project Manager to oversee the permitting process for all Waffle House restaurants, including new construction, remodels (“reimage”), and development projects. The Permitting Project Manager will be responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and approvals from regulatory agencies and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This position requires strong project management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of the permitting process.

The Permitting Project Manager is a Support Team role based out of our Corporate Office in Norcross, GA in the metro Atlanta area. Our Corporate Office Support Team consists of 300 Associates who are committed to supporting our Operations Team as they proudly serve and create memorable experiences for our Customers. What you'll do:

• Lead the permitting process for construction and development projects, from initial application through final approval.
• Identify and obtain all required permits, licenses, and approvals from relevant regulatory agencies, such as zoning boards, building departments, environmental agencies, and utilities.
• Conduct research on zoning, codes, and planning.
• Submit building and civil plans and accompanying applications to planning departments, building departments, health departments, fire departments, and any other approving authority that may review/approve permits.
• Meet with permitting officials to discuss variance options to existing development codes.
• Coordinate and communicate permit statuses with our Construction Department to ensure an efficient Construction Calendar.
• Ensure that all assigned new construction and reimage jobs have a 6-month pipeline of permitted jobs for each Superintendent.
• Maintain a database of permitting projects and ensure all pulled permits stay active.
• Potential for light travel to assist in dimensions, walk restaurants, or pull permits. < 5% travel anticipated.

• Must have reliable personal transportation.
• Must be physically able to climb a ladder.

Experience/Education:

• Knowledge of construction and the permitting process.
• Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Construction, Real Estate, or any related field preferred.
