VTSU is Hiring a Part Time Faculty - Nursing - NUR 3085L - Population-Based Healthcare - Castleton Campus - Simulation & Clinical Course Oversight Near Castleton, VT

The School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Vermont State University, Department of Nursing, invites applications for a Part-Time teaching position for Fall 2024 (Aug. 26 - Dec. 13, 2024).

The course to be taught is Nursing- NUR 3085 - Population-Based Healthcare - Simulation & Clinical Course Oversight.
1 Hybrid Credit - Online Grading & Management of Student Progress

This course is offered on the Castleton Campus.

Through exposure to different empirical frameworks and active engagement in and outside of the classroom, this immersive course will explore the complex myriad of beliefs, practices, and conditions that give rise to the health or vulnerability of individuals, families, communities, and aggregate populations. Integrating the concepts, theories and ethical frameworks and principles that serve as a foundation to the practice of public health, with prior knowledge and skill, student-learners will gain skill, confidence, and competence in applying the nursing process and levels of prevention to the culturally appropriate care of a community and/or population. Interdisciplinary and multi-sectorial collaboration, critical thinking, clinical problem solving, population-centered care, decision making, evidence-based practice, community safety, epidemiology, teaching and learning, principles of social justice and mutually respectful communication are emphasized.

Minimum Qualifications: 
Qualified candidates must possess a Master's degree in Nursing or related field. Teaching experience in secondary school or college is a plus. An active unencumbered Vermont RN licensure or eligibility for an unencumbered Vermont license required. A valid driver's license is required. 

Salary: 
Based on credits previously taught per VSC-VSCPTF Bargaining Unit Agreement.
