Position Description
Overall Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Assistant supports the Two Rivers team. This position will be responsible for providing administrative support for the department, assisting with the hiring process, scheduling new employee orientation, training, and entering a high volume of employment records into our HR databases. In addition, this position will be responsible for backing up payroll processing for the Wisconsin facilities. This position requires a strong sense of discretion with good organization and computer skills. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Principal Accountabilities:
• Provide excellent customer service to all team members and applicants, including explaining company policies, benefits, and procedures
• Perform administrative work, including entering, formatting, and printing information; organizing work; answering the phone; relaying messages; maintaining equipment and supplies; maintaining files; and sorting mail for the HR Department
• Assist with the hiring process, including greeting walk-in applicants, administering pre-employment tests, coordinating and conducting interviews, conducting new hire orientation, etc.
• Conduct and support hourly recruitment
• Create and maintain accurate electronic and personnel files for hourly and salariedteam members
• Complete associated tasks with changes to new hires, transfers, and terminations
• Maintain team member confidence and protect operations by maintaining a high level of confidentiality
• Provide general support with human resources functions and team members
• Plan, coordinate, and leademployee relations and engagement activities, and create flyers for such activities
• Order and deliver WIN awards; assist with service award program
• Participate and assist in organizing special projects as assigned
• Assist with FMLA, worker’s compensation, short-term disability, long-term disability and attendance programs
• Serve as payroll backup for Wisconsin sites
• Complete reports as requested, such as hourly and salaried openings reports, LOA report, etc.
• Maintain digital signage, mobile alerts, and applicable HUB pages
• Assist with Job Fair preparation
• Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Qualifications:
•High School Diploma or GED required; associates degree preferred
•2 years’ office experience required, experience in HR strongly desired
•Experience in payroll processing preferred, but not required
•Strong prioritizing, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
•Strong communication and customer service skills
•Must maintain confidentiality, neutrality, and impartiality
•Microsoft Office experience and proficiency
•Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
•Ability to use tact, diplomacy, patience, and be approachable
•Ability to stay calm in difficult and stressful situations
•Extremely high attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to package and present information in an effective and efficient manner
•Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
•Able to gain the trust and confidence of the leadership while maintaining the necessary control and transparency around the results
•All team members are expected to follow the Code of Conduct to the highest standards as well as to adhere to the Attendance Policy of VT Industries
Physical Requirements
Tolerance for sitting long periods of time. Possess finger dexterity to write, type, and use a calculator. Maintain adequate vision to view small print and computer terminal. Ability to speak and hear, walk throughout facilities with occasional light lifting (25 pounds), stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms required. Ability to travel between multiple facilities as required to perform core job duties.
