The Controller for our Federal Government Contracting division will oversee financial operations, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and contractual obligations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in finance, accounting, and government contracting. The Controller will lead all financial management activities including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as playing a key role in compliance and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight: Manage all aspects of financial operations including accounting, financial reporting, tax, and audit activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulatory laws and standards applicable to federal government contracts.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations (FAR), cost accounting standards (CAS), and other relevant government regulations. Oversee the preparation of all financial reporting required under government contracts.
Budget Management: Lead the budgeting process and provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc.
Strategic Planning: Assist senior management in financial planning and results management. Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.
Team Leadership: Manage the accounting team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Internal Controls: Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization. Oversee the coordination and activities of independent auditors ensuring all audit issues are resolved and the preparation of the annual financial statements is in accordance with U.S. GAAP and federal, state, and other required supplementary schedules and information.
Contractual Negotiations: Assist in the financial negotiations of contracts and work closely with the legal department to ensure contractual terms are favorable to the organization.
Stakeholder Reporting: Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis for senior management and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA highly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of accounting and financial management experience, with at least 4 years in a managerial role within a federal government contracting environment.

Must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods.
Travel may be required for business meetings and conferences.
