Vox is Hiring a Social Media Community Manager Near Washington, DC

Overview

We're looking for a Social Media Community Manager to lead social media monitoring, content creation and community management for various global clients. Our ideal candidate is passionate about social media and understands how consumers engage on each of the platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Threads, etc.). This person will be an extension of our clients’ brands and represent their voice, managing conversations and identifying proactive opportunities to engage their social audiences and customers online.

The position will be based in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead community manager for select social channels, while also closely collaborating with social media team members, clients and other agencies.
  • Maintain and manage holistic the social media community management and monitoring process to ensure optimal execution and performance.
  • Help build and manage an online community, fostering positive interactions and engagement across all platforms. Identify and engage with influencers, brand advocates, and external brands.
  • Monitor client(s) social channels and elevate any user-generated content (UGC) that should be considered for reposting, including tagged content.
  • Provide recommended post copy alongside UGC for stakeholders to review/approve
  • Respond to consumers’ comments online across client(s) social channels in a brand-approved voice.
  • Proactive community management which includes looking for opportunities to insert client(s) into cultural conversations and engage with our audience to foster a sense of community.
  • Stay abreast of social platform best practices, offering recommendations on how to optimize the performance of content.
  • Track and analyze social media metrics to measure the success of campaigns and community engagement. Provide regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and insights.
  • Community management hours will be during working hours (9:00am – 6:00pm EST), Monday – Friday. Minimal light monitoring and posting on weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in social media, either as a Social Media Community Manager, Social Media Strategist focused on engagement, or similar role.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt content to different social media channels and engage with diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple social media editorial calendars, campaigns and projects.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, algorithms, and best practices.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions and have the ability to create reports that are unique to each brand.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative thinking and adaptability to switch between brand tones and personas.
  • Ability to handle community moderation and maintain a positive online environment.
