The Regulatory Affairs Specialist is responsible for monitoring, interpreting, and implementing regulations and standards to ensure compliance for products, projects, or processes for our products and industry standards. We are looking for an understanding of industry-specific regulations and familiarity with regulatory agencies, and external partners. The Regulatory Affairs Specialist will help maintain legal and operational integrity, promote best practices, and facilitate successful outcomes. You will report to the Vice President of Product Safety and Regulatory Compliance.
You Will:
  • Maintain a comprehensive regulatory compliance program, ensuring all Vornado products are compliant with applicable local, state, federal and international regulations, and standards for their intended markets. Focus on product safety, energy, chemical, recyclability, and repair regulations.
  • Research and stay up to date with industry-specific regulations.
  • Provide guidance on regulatory considerations during product design, and testing phases.
  • Advise Vornado project teams of any regulatory compliance updates or new requirements promptly. Recommend plans of action to comply with any updates including schedule and associated costs.
  • Prepare and submit necessary documentation for regulatory approvals, permits, and licenses.
  • Create reports on compliance status for partners.
  • Maintain requisite knowledge of US and International regulations, including pending legislation affecting Vornado, with emphasis on product safety, materials and chemical composition, and related packaging and labeling requirements.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure that products or projects are developed in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Guide communication between our company and regulatory agencies or authorities such as external associations and regulatory related organizations, including the CPSC, EPA, DOE, FCC, CARB and international counterparts.
  • Review, and ensure accuracy and correctness of all required agency documentation.
  • Manage regulatory investigation and data mining projects with our teams, third-party agencies, and Vornado factory partners, including scope, requirements gathering, timeline, and budget approval.
  • Support quality assurance activities to ensure products or processes meet regulatory and quality standards.
  • Participate in internal audits to identify potential compliance issues.
  • Conduct training sessions to educate our teams about regulatory requirements and updates.
  • Conduct oneself with unquestionable integrity and maintain company sensitive information in strict confidence.
  • Suggest improvements to regulatory processes to enhance efficiency and compliance.
You Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Regulatory Affairs, Science, Engineering, or Project Management.). Master's degree, or directly equivalent work experience required.
  • You will have 5 years regulatory affairs experience in a consumer product or manufacturing environment.
  • Background and previous experience managing the regulatory reporting and certification process of consumer products, including experience with CPSC, EPA, DOE, FCC, CARB, PROP65, TSCA, EU REACH, ROHS, and Circular Economy.
  • Experience with regulatory requirements applicable to the consumer goods industry.
  • Expert working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint is mandatory for data mining, organization, and reporting activity.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Must and within an active cross-functional team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
  • Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis is required; employer sponsorship for employment-based visa status is not available for this position.
  • This is not a remote position.
