Position: LMSW / PLPC Mental Health Counselor (Masters Degree Required)
LMSW / PLPC Mental Health Counselor / School Based Behavioral Health

Position Type: Full-Time
Education Level:
Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, required
Must be provisionally licensed in the State of Louisiana through either the LPC Board or Board of Social Work
Salary Range:
Master's degree: $45K - $50K annually depending on experience and placement
Travel Required:
Yes. Dependent on placement.

Volunteers of America of North Louisiana seeks energetic, compassionate, self-motivated, and dynamic professionals who want to make a difference in their community. We have multiple opening within our behavioral health programming available.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct face-to face interview with recipient and their families
  • Provide Individual & Parent/family supportive counseling
  • Provide Crisis Intervention and crisis de-escalation supports
  • Provide educational and skills building interventions to improve client/family functioning
  • Willing to provide the majority of interventions in client's home and/or community
  • Conduct and gather information for a psycho social assessment
  • Accurately and efficiently document client interactions
  • Maintain effective collaborative relationships with other service agencies/programs in the community
  • Provide referral and linkage to community supports as needed and appropriate
  • Able to independently work and schedule counseling sessions and interventions
  • Meet or exceed established key performance indicator goals
  • Collaborate and consult clinical supervisor frequently for professional growth and development
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required by your program
