VLS Environmental Solutions is Hiring a Lead Maintenance Technician Near Corpus Christi, TX
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance to manufacturer and company specifications on machinery and mechanical equipment.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate Pipe & Create ISO Drawings
- Operate Equipment (Crane, Forklift) and Welder (Plate, Pipe, Stainless Steel & Carbon).
- Establishes or adjusts work orders to meet production schedules.
- Operation of machinery or mechanisms with inspection equipment.
- Understanding and knowledge of Safety Procedures.
- General housekeeping in maintenance areas and operating areas using prescribed company procedures.
- Maintains records of work executed for each major piece of equipment in the plant. This includes inspections, ASME code paperwork, etc.
- Ensure all work performed by the Maintenance Department is done in a safe and efficient manner according to company, state and federal rules and regulations.
- Ensure all tools, construction equipment, and supplies are available for use to meet project schedules.
- Ability to train and serve as the go to with complex maintenance fixes including but not limited to pump operation and maintenance, electrical, and instrumentation
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
- May be assisting or performing welding and pipefitting with supervision.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Certificate from trade school or college preferred
- 3 Years related work experience in Maintenance
- Experience with basic welding preferred
- Experience with heavy equipment (forklift, front loader, etc.)
- Extensive hand/ power tool experience preferred
- Basic math, reading comprehension and writing skills
- Work long hours doing repetitive motions in any weather
- Work occasional weekends or holidays
- Dependable
- Manages time effectively
- Must be willing to help out in other departments as needed
- Ability to work independently or as a team
- Safety (OSHA) experience preferred
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to work on various pieces of equipment including; but not limited to, pumps, seals, gear boxes and diesel engines.
- Experience with basic pump operation & maintenance.
Experience with basic electrical & instrumentation.
