As a Medical Assistant at our urgent care facility, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent patient experiences and ensuring the smooth functioning of daily operations.

**Job Summary:**

As a Medical Assistant at our Urgent Care Center, you will be the first point of contact for patients seeking medical attention. Your friendly demeanor, efficiency, and professionalism will contribute significantly to the overall patient experience. You will manage front desk duties, schedule appointments, verify patient information, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive timely and quality care. Preferably experienced and knowledge of back-office duties in an urgent care setting or similar facility for purpose of cross-training.

**Responsibilities:**

• Greet and welcome patients with a friendly and caring attitude as they arrive at the urgent care center.
• Accurately and efficiently register patients, collect demographic and insurance information, and update electronic health records (EHR).
• Handle incoming phone calls and inquiries professionally, directing calls to appropriate staff members as needed.
• Work closely with medical staff to coordinate patient flow, ensuring minimal wait times and smooth transitions between procedures.
• Verify insurance coverage and process billing information, maintaining strict adherence to healthcare regulations and patient privacy laws.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the reception area, waiting room, and front desk.
• Assist with general administrative tasks, such as managing paperwork, filing, and handling mail.

**Requirements:**

• Spanish speaking required
• Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist in an urgent care setting or a related medical facility
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centric approach.
• Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer applications **Athena EMR a plus**
• Ability to multitask effectively, prioritize tasks, and handle a fast-paced work environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance procedures, and HIPAA compliance
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and composed during high-stress situations.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
