About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP of Strategic Finance and FP&A to lead a dynamic team of "decathletes" with diverse backgrounds in banking, consulting, and financial planning and analysis. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving financial and operational improvements for the rapidly growing business, with a focus on preparing for the company's public offering and beyond. This critical leadership role involves spearheading financial planning and strategy, developing and tracking key financial and KPI metrics, and engaging with external investors. The VP will also serve as a strategic partner for various business units, collaborating with the executive team to establish growth targets, and will be expected to have a hands-on approach to problem-solving and a high talent density in the finance function.Applicants must have a minimum of 12 years of professional experience, with a proven track record of building and growing strategic finance or FP&A teams, preferably within a high-growth technology business. The role requires individuals with raw smarts, high attention to detail, and the ability to approach complex problems with strong business acumen. Flexibility is key, as the position demands the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced startup environment and mentor junior talent. The VP should be a dynamic communicator, capable of influencing a wide range of stakeholders, and have a high level of academic achievement, with a top-tier MBA being a plus. The role is based in the company's San Mateo HQ, and candidates should be prepared for a daily commute to the office.
