Trusted Staffe is partnering with a leading regional long-term care facility in Independence, VA, to find a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their team. This rewarding opportunity allows you to utilize your skills in a collaborative environment, helping patients regain communication and swallowing abilities.
About The FacilityOur partner facility is dedicated to providing exceptional care for long-term residents. They offer a supportive and collaborative work environment, valuing their staff's expertise and contributions.
The Role
  • Evaluation & Treatment: Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and swallowing evaluations for residents with various communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Treatment Planning & Implementation: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address specific patient needs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including nurses, physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient progress.
  • Education: Educate residents, families, and staff on communication strategies and swallowing safety measures.
  • Travel: Travel required between long-term care facilities within the region (details provided during interview).
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Current Virginia state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a long-term care setting (preferred).
  • Strong clinical skills in speech, language, and swallowing evaluation and treatment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (required).
Schedule
  • Day Shift: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (flexible scheduling may be available)
