WANTED:

Virtual Inc. is looking for a Staff Accountant within our Client Accounting team! The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 2 years of working experience in multiple facets of Accounting. Must be an adaptable team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment with a high level of urgency and detail. The Staff Accountant, is responsible for a variety of accounting activities for the Client Accounting Team such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipt handling, bank reconciliation, AR follow-up and other duties as assigned. In addition, the Staff Accountant will work hand in hand with senior leadership, managers, and cross functional teams to improve and develop processes, as well as maintain and verify accounting system data and information. This position requires working out of our Wakefield, MA office 3 days/week (Tuesday & Thursday anchor days, 1 floating day).

  • Performs transaction processing including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Cash Receipt processing, Credit Card processing, Banking, processing wire and ACH transfers, 1099, annual reports, and Accounts Payable. Staff Accountant will also provide backup to other members of the Accounting staff
  • Creates reports for management
  • Collaborates across departments to ensure service excellence within established SLA and company policies
  • Tracks data via online banking systems, other online processing accounts
  • Direct communication with management extending to officers and other board members with regard to approval processes, banking needs, and legal/tax related document reviews and signatory needs
  • Problem solving/reconciliation of accounts
  • Direct involvement in corporate audits working directly with independent CPA firm
  • Direct involvement in corporate tax preparation working directly with independent CPA firm
  • Has through knowledge of the Accounting department's Import and Export tools
  • Manage Banking relationships for corporate accounts
  • Assists with preparation of annual corporate budget
  • Direct involvement with Cash Flow tracking and forecasting
  • Performs accrual and cash based analytics
  • Aids in delegation of tasks for temps and/or interns ensuring accuracy of transactions, proper GL account assignment, workload distribution, training on processes and tools such as QuickBooks, online banking tools, importing and ancillary software systems, use of spreadsheets,
  • Identify and drive process improvements across all functions of accounting to improve efficiency and accuracy working with other functional areas throughout the company
  • Devises and implements systems for improving process workflow, looks for new efficiencies
  • Ad Hoc projects or tasks as assigned

As our next Staff Accountant, you will bring:

  • 2 years work experience across multiple facets of accounting such as AP, AR, GL, Payroll,
  • B.S. Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience is preferred
  • Intermediate level QuickBooks Pro or Enterprise, certification a plus
  • High Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office Suite tools (PPT, Word, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Experience with Account Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliation and Audit support
  • Understanding of accrual based accounting, Balance sheet, P&L, Cash Flow statements and how accounting transactions impact the statements
  • Exposure to ancillary software programs such as online banking, time and billing systems
  • Prior experience utilizing data import tools and/or engagement in process improvement and data entry automation efforts
  • Proven ability to drive process improvement and comfortably implement new tools and software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - significant internal client interaction
  • Ability to multi-task in an extremely fast paced environment, ability to prioritize and change priorities as business changes occur
  • Team player attitude, dedicated, self-motivated, and able to operate with minimal supervision
  • Direct interaction with management and executives, customer service background a plus
  • Good problem-solving skills with an analytical mind
  • A sense of urgency and pride in work

The target hiring range for this role is $50,000 - $60,000 USD (annually). The starting base salary will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other job-related factors.
