Learn more about us at www.vintnersresort.com where we Celebrate Everything!We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and experienced Accounting Specialist! SUMMARY: Under minimal supervision, performs standard accounting clerical duties in the areas of Accounts Payable, Posting Sales of various departments, assisting with Event Billing, and making bank deposits. May prepare and verify various standard entries for financial data processing system; reconciles report discrepancies and problems.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Invoice and data entry, verification of information on P.O.’s and coding to general ledgerDrafting of payments and processes checks for distribution to vendorsMaintains accurate vendor recordsWorks with personnel and vendors via written correspondence and telephone conversations to resolve discrepancieProcesses 1099's to recipients at year endMake daily bank runsInput all voids, stop pays and manual checks as requestedCompletes credit applicationProcess Travel Agent CommissionsWork on special projects as assignedPrepares daily, weekly, and monthly sales reportsBilling of events, as well as communicating with director of salesAssisting departments with inventory counting and entering data in excel Other duties may be assigned.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to perform routine mathematical/accounting principles. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Quickbooks accounting software. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Office software. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Skills in AR/AP with a medium to large company or equivalent.
