Viking Yacht Service Center, a subsidiary of Viking Yacht Company, is seeking a purchasing assistant to add to its team:
Job Summary: Assists Senior purchasing agent to compile and maintain material and parts inventory and status information to expedite material between the stockroom and production areas. Procurement or purchasing of parts, supplies, products. Requires a working knowledge of applicable operations, procedures programs as well as knowledge of boats and boat parts.
Essential Duties:
Performs duties related to procurement and receipt of parts as needed.
Create / process purchase orders (PO’s) as needed
Responsible for follow up on PO’s through shipment and delivery
Ability to keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments, prepare items for shipping.
Ability to issue stockroom inventory and record all data into a computer based inventory system.
Ability to compare identifying information of received goods against bills of lading, packing lists, invoices, orders or other records.
Computer knowledge / experience is required. Previous marine parts / boat knowledge
Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned.
Follow defined instructions and procedures in performance of tasks.
Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain safe, clean work area.
All work to be performed to Viking Yacht Service Center quality standards.
Qualifications:
High School or general equivalency degree (GED)
Knowledge of fundamental math and computer skills
Two (2) years experience in a stockroom, parts, or warehouse, purchasing in a manufacturing environment. Experience may be attained on-the-job and by company training.
