Position Overview 

Viewpointe is actively developing its Enterprise infrastructure DevOps program. The Infrastructure DevOps Engineer takes direction from Cloud Services leadership to develop and maintain automation and orchestration for delivery of public cloud infrastructure.

The Infrastructure DevOps Engineer contributes to determining potential automation strategies for Cloud Services delivery, with an understanding of business outcomes ranging across compliance, budget priorities, and customer requirements.

Ideal candidates will be career programmers, with expertise in configuring Linux operating systems with Ansible. A successful candidate will contribute to designing, programming, and maintaining the code base responsible for deployment, configuration, and validation of public cloud infrastructure. Integration of other teams’ modules, functions, and pipelines is expected. Familiarity with Azure IaC using Azure Resource Templates is beneficial.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Automate deployment, configuration, and validation processes for Cloud infrastructure and virtual machine operating systems.
• Implement Viewpointe infrastructure and security standards through automation to ensure cloud infrastructure adheres to approved design patterns, compliance requirements and security posture.
• Team contributor to engineering efforts in Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines that leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates and modules, and Ansible playbooks.
• Participate in intra-department thought leadership by incorporating DevOps practices to prevent and track any state drift for cloud infrastructure changes during operations.
• Collaborate with Application Development teams to identify integration and handoff points between automated infrastructure build and automation application deployments.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for design, configuration, and implementation of infrastructure DevOps projects.
• Positively and proactively participate in Infrastructure DevOps planning and execution.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• 5 years Minimum related work experience.
• 5 years of systems administrator experience; preferably in Public Cloud or large Enterprise Level Data Centers.
• 5 Linux operating system programmatic configuration experience.
• 2 years working with infrastructure orchestration and automation.
• 2 years working with cloud provider platforms - Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS).
• 2 years working knowledge with Cloud service provider technologies (Microsoft Azure preferred).
• Experience in object-oriented software design and development.
• Technical skills in server operating systems (Windows and Linux) including basic administration and native language scripting.
• Programmatic skills that leverage languages and scripting.
• Knowledge and experience with Git and CI/CD concepts.
• Knowledge of automation, orchestration, and configuration management technologies, including Ansible.
• Technical knowledge across the infrastructure stack - network, storage, and compute virtualization.
• Experience operating in a mission critical enterprise environment, with change control and regulatory compliance.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Strong cross-competency collaboration skills.10 years minimum technology related work experience

Physical and Environmental Conditions

Standard office environment, equipment, and tasks including work at computer terminals. This position will work remotely. At times can require overnight travel as needed for training, team meetings, or industry events.
