Wells Fargo is seeking a collaborative and High Performing Terraform Lead DevOps Engineer with a growth mindset who would love to work in an agile team environment, someone who embraces and solves new technology challenges.
This candidate will be part of the Terraform engineering team, responsible for developing and maintaining the Terraform CI/CD pipeline and supporting technical issues that arise with the pipeline and Terraform platform.
This role requires high level of technical expertise to support private and public cloud platforms. This position serves as a direct escalation point for Terraform engineers with technical issues and requires strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills. The ideal individual for this role must have a proven track record of supporting enterprise scale platforms like Terraform. This role requires a strong understanding of large-scale computing solutions and the ability to work on multiple and complex issues. This person will also have a strong and broad technical background in designing, developing, and deploying automation solutions using Terraform in addition to being able to bring complex problems to a clear resolution to support the needs of our customers and partners.
In this role, you will:
Lead complex initiatives to develop infrastructure to provide solutions for business applications
Participate in various projects intended to continually improve or upgrade the infrastructure
Evaluate internal and external software solutions which could be leveraged to meet target state architecture goals
Review and analyze high impact outages to ensure the proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid problems in the future
Design, build, deploy and maintain infrastructure solutions through collaborative efforts with the team and third party vendors
Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
Make decisions in technical designs, implementation plans and identify project risks and resource requirements
Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success
Recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and achieve results
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Interact with customer and vendor
Manage the Terraform Enterprise platform
Build, manage, and support CI/CD orchestration pipelines for Terraform and deploy/test across environments
Integrate with enterprise tools and environment standards
Shape technical proposals to be commercially acceptable to the customer
Defines the approach to larger/more complex solution development and acceptance testing
Contributes to the overall platform architecture
Design solutions of significant size and complexity
Collaborate with Application teams and onboard new application platforms onto the Ansible framework and author playbooks
Lead or participate in high level technical concepts spanning technology and business
Develop specifications for complex infrastructure systems, design and test solutions
Review and analyze solutions for security, secrets management and key rotations
Resolve troublesome trends as they develop
Develop a long range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring
Required Qualifications, US:
5 years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
4 years of experience managing large scale Highly Available Platforms like Terraform Enterprise
3 Years of hands-on experience and in Terraform
Desired Qualifications:
4 years of experience using automated testing pipelines that create and destroy infrastructure on as needed basis
4 years experience working with public cloud providers
Experience in creating, managing, and deploying Terraform modules
4 years of experience with Agile, Kanban, or Lean methodology
3 years of experience with logging, monitoring, and event detection on cloud or distributed platforms
Experience managing configuration, build and deployments for enterprise software solutions.
Experience using tools such as: Jira, Harness, GitHub, Jenkins, etc
Experience building CI/CD pipelines and experience working with a GitOps pipeline
Experience with version control or source code repositories to include: Jenkins, GitHub, BitBucket, Artifactory, and Nexus
Multi-tasking experience - managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills – written and spoken.
Understanding of network fundamentals, APIs and HTTP protocol
Ability to understand critical issues and bring appropriate resolution to complex issues
High degree of professionalism, self-motivation and problem-solving attitude
Experiencing working with Microsoft (Azure) and Google (GCP) cloud providers
Experience working with ServiceNow
Experience in managing IT infrastructure for a medium-to-large organization
Experience with HashiCorp Sentinel and writing sentinel policies
Experience with HashiCorp Vault and Consul

Pay range for this role in Dallas TX, Phoenix AZ, Charlotte NC is from $111,100 to $197,500.
Pay range for this role in Mclean VA is from $122,200.00 to $217,200.
Pay Range for this role in Concord CA is from $133,300 to $237,100.
