Job Description
Job Title: Regional Automotive Sales Manager
Reports To:
FLSA Status: Salary Exempt
JOB SUMMARY
Lead advertising sales efforts for Viamedia in the automotive category. Responsible for developing/implementing sales strategy for the automotive category to exceed revenue goals, while serving as the resident “automotive expert” providing expertise and knowledge about the automotive industry; develop and implement training programs for Sales Teams who call on local and regional dealer groups along with leading Sales Teams to grow share of automotive revenues. Collaborate with Management, DVP’s and Account Executives (AE’s) on annual sales budgets, goals and targets in the automotive category. Supports regional/national sales efforts when appropriate; lead sales meetings, train AE’s on automotive retention processes, initiates sales efforts to meet and exceed company goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING*
  • Contribute to the company vision of being the industry leader in customer service through quality, commitment, courtesy and teamwork
  • Build and execute strategy to increase share of auto dealer ad spending
  • Collaborate with sales management team on revenue objectives and assist in the budget process, goal setting and sales strategy
  • Track dealer spending, growth, averages, and identify trends in dealer spending
  • Identify dealer opportunities using the Polk and other research
  • Lead/train AE’s in finding the best opportunity for new auto business and upgrades among the market’s dealer and dealer groups
  • Make joint sales presentations to auto dealers promoting the power of television and digital advertising
  • Train AE’s on associated tactics designed to grow share of dealer ad spending; provide ongoing training for AE’s and managers.
  • Attend/join special events/trade organizations. Travel as necessary to industry trade shows (NADA) and other related opportunities that help drive automotive sales
  • Perform other duties as requested
  • Other duties as may be assigned
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Advertising, Marketing or equivalent
  • 5-10 years of media sales experience in the Automotive category
  • Analyze and interpret data
  • Communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straight forward manner
  • Interact with all levels of management and company personnel
  • Handle multiple projects and tasks
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
  • Manage multiple projects at one time
  • Prioritize and organize effectively
  • Show judgment and initiative to accomplish job duties
  • Supervise and motivate others
  • Very proficient with computers-MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet)
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
