Position Title: Research Scientist

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, variable hours between 8:00am to 4:30pm

Salary: $64,480 - $69,000 annually
Perform behavioral, pharmacological, and electrophysiological research in animals.
· Experience with handling animals, conducting animal behavior, surgical experience with animals, implantations of electrodes, cannulas and other devices, analysis of data.
· Conduct behavioral experiments with animals. This will involve handling and training animals to perform various behaviors/tasks, monitoring task completion, extracting and analyzing behavioral data.
· Performing small animal surgeries (including implantation of electrodes/miniaturized microscopes, cannula for drug delivery and viral injections.
· Performs histological analyses on tissue, including with fluorescent microscopy.
· Analysis of data (using various software’s including MATLAB, SPSS, excel, JMP)
· Preparation of manuscripts.
Requirements
Doctoral degree (PhD or MD) in related field from an accredited college or university AND at least 2 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
