Business Systems Analyst

Overview

As a Veson Nautical Business Systems Analyst, you will report to the Manager of Information Technology and be a highly valued subject matter expert intimately involved with selecting, integrating, and administrating a diverse array of critical line of business (LOB) systems. Serving in this key role, you will be relied upon to identify and document business requirements, describe, and diagram the entire ecosystem of business processes, and assist with the scoping and development of overall system architecture. You will work to identify gaps and provide technical expertise in scaling systems, processes, and procedures while maintaining compliance with data security and privacy best practices. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in guiding the direction and influencing the derived value of Veson’s critical line of business systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate with subject matter experts across multiple departments and systems to generate custom reports, workflows, and analyses to provide the company with information essential to making impactful business decisions
• Gather business requirements and provide advice to departments as part of scoping and sourcing new systems
• Integrate existing and future systems to maximize, automate, and consolidate data workflows while eliminating redundancies
• Collaborate with Information Technology to ensure that business systems adhere to data security, privacy, and compliance standards (GDPR, SOC2 Type II, SOC1 Type II, ISO 27001 etc.)
• Provide administrative support across all line of business systems
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency of business processes
• Assist Senior Systems Administrator with application installation, testing, and upgrades
• Work with employees to support the development of analyses, dashboards, reports, and ad hoc queries
• Provide minor programming/scripting for in-house IT projects

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in business systems analysis, preferably in a Salesforce and/or NetSuite environment
• Experience supporting a global user base is preferred
• Excellent documentation inclination and ability

• Experience with SAAS software administration is preferred
• Proficiency with the Microsoft 365 suite of applications is preferred
• Willingness to work infrequently outside of normal business hours in support of system maintenance, system deployments, and resolution of production issues
• Degree in computer science, information technology, or related field or a combination of related experience and education
