Vernier Metal Fabricating, Inc is Hiring an Account Manager Near Seymour, CT

Job Summary

Responsible for direct customer contact in all areas relating to inquiries, orders, order entry, pricing, scheduling, delivery dates, packaging and troubleshooting customer complaints. Uses the knowledge of product, company capacities and capabilities to achieve customer satisfaction and growth.

_ Essential functions_

  • Maintain positive relationships with various customers
  • Reply to customer inquiries promptly and accurately using a polite and courteous manner both in email and phone
  • Receive, compile and enter sales orders into MIEitrak
  • Submit estimate inquiry within reasonable time; record and file appropriately
  • Inform department heads of any special requests required by customer
  • Handle all aspects of sale orders, including but not limited to billing, shipping, changes to delivery dates, acknowledgments, quality, credits and RMAs
  • Document, respond, troubleshoot and resolve all customer issues and concerns in a timely fashion to ensure customer satisfaction and retention
  • Track work orders and communicate with supervisors and/or operations manager to ensure progress and on-time completion of work orders
  • Communicate with customers on any changes to original work order(s) promptly
  • Assist traffic on orders for shipment and delivery; communicate accordingly to customers and/or subcontractors
  • Review customer vendor performance data for validity
  • Promote and generate new sales from new and/or existing customers
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience:

High School Diploma or GED with four years related experience and/or training; or GED with two years related experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Computer Skills:

  • Strong ability to use and communicate using email
  • Strong knowledge in spreadsheet and word processing software
  • Strong data entry including the use of online portals
  • Basic experience in manufacturing software

Mathematical Skills:

  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables
