We are looking for a high performing sales professional to be a Quality Manager. This position is responsible for providing results driven leadership to the Quality Management System (QMS) for Vernet US. The Quality Manager is accountable for planning, budgeting, resource management, scheduling, training, best practices, quality, and continued improvement of responsible areas. This position acts as the management representative for QS9001 and TS16949 production efficiencies and improvements on current equipment and projects.
What You Will Do:
  • Obtain, analyze, and coordinates corrective action, on significant deviations from quality standards.
  • Effectively communicates relevant information to the management team.
  • Participates in the review of all design, manufacturing, purchasing, and test documentation & procedures to ensure that the customers' quality requirements are met, both for current and new customers.
  • Strives for continuous improvement in overall defect-reduction, monitors defect-reduction procedure effectiveness, and implements appropriate adjustments.
  • Communicates with customer representative for quality related issues and concerns via email or through customer specific portals. Timely communicates with customers on open or pending actions items.
  • Works with Quality Engineers and production staff to troubleshoot issues on the production floor.
  • Ensures that supplier quality problems are investigated, trends are tracked, and issues resolved so that Vernet is supplied with quality parts.
  • Maintain ISO9001 quality system and complete audits to maintain certification and continuous improvement. Will lead the company through the change to TS16949.
  • Must have a working knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and automated machinery.
  • Establish and track departmental goals and objectives that provide world-class quality and technical services performance to the organization.
  • Annually prepares the department budget.
  • Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates monitors and yearly evaluates performance, counsels, records, and disciplines all supervised employees. Ensure that all team members receive training hours consistent with the company’s goal each year.
  • Able to hire and terminate or make recommendations to hire/term subordinates.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What We Are Looking For:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, materials management, operations management, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years as a Quality or Test engineer.
  • Knowledge of quality/technical lab management policies and procedures to include legal and ethical obligations.
  • Customer service and high level of communication skills required
  • Must have high levels of problem solving, analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Minimum 5 years as a leader or supervisory experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish preferred
  • Automotive or Aerospace quality management systems experience preferred.
