Overview

In the newly formed camera platform team, we are building a) distributed low-latency alert and notification systems that will be used by hundreds of thousands Verkada devices all around the world; b) Verkada’s incident management platform that enables AI-driven investigation and evidence management across our ecosystem and c) our Public API that enables programmatic interaction with Verkada devices that includes our enterprise video search system (Helix).

Responsibilities: 

• Develop our alert and notification experience, including alert creation and management
• Create state of the art investigation pipeline that prioritizes privacy while protecting people and properties
• Comfortable leading whole projects from design to implementation with high degree of ownership
• Work on cross-product functionality to enhance Verkada ecosystem

Requirements: 

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, or similar technical field of study
• 4 years of professional experience as a backend engineer
• Demonstrated expertise in either Python or GoLang 
• Experience working with databases including DynamoDB, Postgres, ElasticSearch and Redis
• Strong distributed system background, particularly around building data-intensive applications
• Experience in building large-scale real-time system would be a plus
