Job Title: Account Manager

Reports to: Branch Manager

Salary Range: $70K-$90K plus Commission- based on experience

Position Type: Full-Time/Salary/Exempt Status

From routine maintenance, water management, seasonal color and tree care; we can handle every aspect of landscape management, drawing upon our deep experience. We serve a wide range of customers from resorts, retail centers, and corporate campuses to homeowner's associations, public spaces, and private residences.

This position is located in Lemon Grove, CA. (San Diego County)

We currently have a full-time position available for an Account Manager who will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial landscape maintenance accounts. Account Managers require a strong work ethic, enjoy interacting with the public and oversee multiple large commercial clients.

San Diego is one of three branches under the Verdant family. Our team in San Diego is composed of three office staff and approximately 25 field staff. The Branch Manager is very entrepreneurial, creative, and driven. This team works as a collaborative group to solve problems promptly and professionally. This is a fast-paced work environment that affords flexibility and opportunity from top to bottom. We look forward to working with individuals that understand and share our branch and company goals.

  • Manage clients with the goal of 95% customer retention
  • Building an outstanding production team - developing employees and working with employees to build and support a team environment
  • Managing production for our high quality service including understanding basic horticultural concepts and working efficiently and safely at all times
  • Ensuring that customers are completely satisfied through effective communication, relationship building and regular site visits
  • Business Development - soliciting new commercial maintenance contracts for Homeowner’s Associations, industrial or commercial clients.
  • Selling enhancement services in order to improve site conditions. Ensure coordinating with other branch employees and customers to ensure that enhancement work is completed successfully on budget and on time.
  • Ensuring a safe environment for employees, customers and the general public.
  • Acting as a liaison between clients and our branch to ensure that receivables are current and collections are performed if needed.
  • Maintaining monthly budgets and reporting results to management.
  • Demonstrating role model behaviors on ethics and integrity as well as positively promoting Company culture.
  • Maintaining profitability goals for existing and new sales based on the branch budget and projections.
  • Frequent(Monthly to Quarterly) site audits with the goal to deliver a quality product and maintain ancillary(Enhancements, Arbor Care, Plant Health Care, Irrigation) penetration based on branch goals and budget.
  • Ability to wear multiple hats and be a team player.
  • Proficient with computer software programs including Microsoft Office Suite and Aspire Software(Training available)
  • Customer service experience – able to identify and resolve customer concerns
  • Strong math skills- ability to propose profitable work, read financial reports, and negotiate pricing on behalf of the company.

  • Strong work ethic.
  • Prefer Bachelors degree in Ag Business, Horticulture, Ag Science, Landscape Maintenance, Agronomy, Floriculture, Forestry, Plant and Soil Science, Environmental Design, Turf Grass or Landscape Architecture
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
  • Certified Irrigation Technician
  • Certified Chemical Applicator
  • Licensed C-27, C-8, C-49 contractor
