Description

The Vice President of Cloud Operations plays a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction and operational excellence of the Company's cloud infrastructure. Leading a team responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our cloud solutions, this position requires a seasoned leader with extensive experience in cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and enterprise-level infrastructure management. The Vice President of Cloud Operations will collaborate closely with executive leadership, department heads, and cross-functional teams to advance the organization's cloud initiatives and support its growth objectives.

1. Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for the Company's cloud operations, aligning with business objectives and market trends.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on the adoption of emerging cloud technologies, ensuring continuous innovation and competitive advantage.
  • Drive a culture of operational excellence, agility, and continuous improvement within the Cloud Operations team.

2. Team Management and Development:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of cloud engineers, architects, and operations professionals, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
  • Set clear goals and performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities to team members.

3. Cloud Infrastructure Management:

  • Oversee the design, deployment, and management of secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud architectures, with a primary focus on AWS (Amazon Web Services).
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including FedRAMP, SOC, and GDPR, by maintaining robust security controls and documentation.
  • Optimize cloud resources and costs through effective monitoring, analysis, and optimization strategies.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, product management, and other departments to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable cloud solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and change management processes to evaluate and prioritize cloud-related projects and enhancements.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with cloud service providers, technology partners, and vendors to drive innovation and maximize value.

5. Operational Excellence and Risk Management:

  • Establish and maintain rigorous change management processes, ensuring the stability and reliability of production infrastructure while facilitating agile delivery practices.
  • Lead incident response and resolution efforts during technical crises, serving as Incident Commander and driving post-incident reviews and lessons learned.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans to mitigate operational risks and ensure business resilience.

6. Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for cloud technology operations.

  • Report and tracks budget spends at monthly level.
  • Leverage discounting strategies for maximizing cloud budgets.
  • Forecast spends based on new infrastructure and project initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15 years of progressive experience in cloud operations, infrastructure management, and leadership roles, with at least 5 years in a senior management or executive position.
  • Extensive experience working in SaaS (Software as a Service) environments, with a deep understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and agile methodologies.
  • Proven track record of architecting, deploying, and managing complex cloud solutions on AWS, with certifications at the Professional level and Specialties of Advanced Networking and Security preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives, lead organizational change, and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
