Our company is currently experiencing rapid growth and we are seeking an experienced
Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible
for processing transactions and preparing the financials for a portfolio of accounts. The
Staff Accountant applies generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze
financial information, reconcile financial statements, prepare general and standard
journal entries, assist in budget development, and prepare standard accounting and
financial reports for our clients.
Requirements:
● 2-3 years of recent accounting experience
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment, managing multiple
accounts.
● Preparation and reconciliation of various general ledger accounts
● Prepare and enter various month-end accrual, reclass, general, and recurring
journal entries
● Process accounts payable and ensure expenses are properly categorized per
approved budget
● Process Homeowner account transitions in owners
● Advanced computer skills: Microsoft suite of products: Word, Excel, Google
sheets and Google docs
● Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
● Strong analytical skills. Ability to think and solve problems independently
● Excellent organizational and communication (interpersonal) skills
● Ability to work effectively in a team environment
● Solid understanding of bank reconciliations
● Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to
understand and solve creative challenges
Duties:
Perform the following duties for a portfolio of 25-30 client’s books
● Reconcile bank accounts.
● Process cash transfers as necessary.
● Review investment reports for accuracy.
● Reconcile homeowner accounts.
● Communicate with the Board of Directors on the collection process.
● Request decisions from the Board of Directors on collections and
communicate that information to the owner.
● Process Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP).
● Processing of collections.
● Prepare, review and analyze financial statements.
● Prepare account reconciliations.
● Prepare and book journal entries.
● Knowledge of general accounting and general ledgers along with a solid
understanding of accrual method accounting.
● Miscellaneous data entry.
● Other duties as assigned.
