From concept development, visitor experience design, and detailed construction specifications to the manufacturing of state-of-the-art products like the world's largest Acrylite® viewing structures, As a one-stop-shop for public aquarium design, construction and operational services, we bring knowledge, inventiveness, craftsmanship, experience, service, professionalism and proprietary solutions to every project we do.
We're looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer in a full-time role based in the Houston, Texas office, where we have a 20,000 sq ft shop floor area dedicated to design and development of the aquarium products. You will be integral to our mission to create the world's most extraordinary public aquariums. You will collaborate closely with our seasoned experts and have the chance to contribute to groundbreaking projects. You'll be on the engineering team that designs and builds one-of-a-kind spectacular projects that are seen by millions of people around the world.

What you'll do:
  • Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs and drawings for new products, including acrylic viewing windows, manufacturing supporting equipment , and tooling.
  • Support business development in technical matters and calculations.
  • Perform engineering calculations to support design work using FEA
  • Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications and use FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software to calculate acrylic thicknesses.
  • Develop detailed documentation to track project development and design process.
  • Work with the leadership team and engineering manager on a regular basis
  • Collaborate with client engineering teams on projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • 2 years of experience working in a Mechanical Engineering capacity in the construction, manufacturing, architecture or other related industries.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks (3D design of assemblies and components, Technical Drawings)
  • Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
  • Experience using Project Management software such as Wrike or others.
  • Creative, resourceful, and enjoys the challenge of something new every day.
  • Attention to detail and organized.
  • Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
  • Out of the box thinker with a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to communicate and articulate effectively and clearly with colleagues as well as clients.
  • Must be self-motivated and a collaborative team worker.
  • Must be confident and capable but also open to coachable and have a sense of humility
  • Be able to communicate well with colleagues who are overseas in other countries
  • Curiosity, strong interest in learning
  • Strong work ethic, hard worker
  • Plus (not required): Experience using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software
