Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive team member engagement, partnering with Talent Development & business leaders
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, laws, guidelines relating to hiring, firing, and employment. Maintain personnel files
  • Develop and deploy best-in-class programs for recruiting, compensation, benefits and overall personnel management to meet strategic objectives
  • Lead personnel investigations and claims assessments, as needed, to the highest professional standards
  • Lead payroll services, with accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints
  • Analyze wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan
  • Conduct wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate
  • Consult legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law
  • Maintains records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and retirement plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations and employee statistics for government reporting
  • Treat people with respect; Keep commitments; Inspire the trust of others; Work with integrity; Uphold organizational values
  • Project a professional, engaging and courteous demeanor when communicating both within and outside the organization. A leader who fosters teamwork across the organization and can build a top performing team
  • Establish credibility and respect, identify positively with people at all levels
  • Provide strategic input and leadership on issues affecting the organization
  • Manage department budget, including documentation and reporting
  • Attend relevant Conferences and Training events to enhance personal expertise and industry knowledge
  • Attend and strategize with Corporate Management to integrate Human Resources into overall corporate goals
  • Originate and maintain updates related to Valor Tactical Innovation procedures, specifications and job instructions for the Human Resources department. Assist others as needed.
  • Must uphold Valor Tactical Innovation standards and specifications and abide by Valor Tactical Innovation rules & regulations

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective employee relations that align with Valor Tactical Innovation’s Mission, Values & Culture
  • Inspire a culture of respect, trust, two-way communication, consistency, patience, professionalism, teamwork and genuine caring
  • Coordinate management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety and sexual harassment. 
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward Company goals
  • Exude confident, mature presentation skills with an ability to develop credibility with diverse parties 
  • Possess the ability to be tough minded and not afraid to step out in front using facts and data to support position
  • Balance team and individual responsibilities; Give and welcome feedback; Contribute to building a positive team spirit; Put success of team above own interest; support overall efforts to succeed
  • Stay current with industry changes, trends, and best practices and assess potential impact, with recommended solutions, to Valor Tactical Innovation

Minimum Qualifications

  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder
  • Must pass background check and appropriate drug screening
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five years of experience leading a Human Resources function

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PHR or SPHR certification
  • Ten years leading a Human Resources function
