Valley Mountain Regional Center is Hiring a BCBA Near Stockton, CA

General Statement of Duties: : Under general supervision of the Director of Clinical Services, assess and evaluate the behavioral health needs of clients, not limited to, those residing in Developmental Centers (DC), Community Crisis Homes (CCH), Enhanced Behavioral Support Homes (EBSH), Delayed Egress Secured Perimeter Homes (DESP) and Locked Environments. Monitor, review and report on the appropriateness of the behavior plans. Provide consultation to the Community Services Units, Clinical Services Department and other stakeholders. Monitor the behavioral health services and needs of the most difficult to serve.
INTERACTS WITH: Valley Mountain Regional Center (VMRC) Staff, Directors, Vendors and Stakeholders.

Working Condition and Physical Requirement:

  • The majority of duties are performed in the office and out in the community.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel locally and out of town regularly.
  • The ability to sit at a work station for up to 5 hours at a time.
  • Frequent standing and walking throughout offices, service provider facilities and other agencies.
  • Adequate manual dexterity and coordination to operate standard office equipment (i.e. computer, telephone, fax machine, etc.)
  • The ability to read, write and comprehend large amounts of written material such as reports and regulations, use the telephone, and communicate via electronic mail is required on a daily basis.
  • Excellent oral and written skills are essential for reports and other documentation.
  • The ability to lift, push and pull up to 25 pounds.

Key Responsibilities Essential Functions

  • Provide clinical expertise on behavioral health treatments including formal and informal consultation, desensitization, assessment of situational needs or functional needs, assessment of client’s independent skills and behavior motivators.
  • Use of evidence-based practices and interventions in the recommendations to help consumers become more independent in the least restrictive setting.
  • Disseminate information to staff and community regarding clinical principles and evidence-based practices for behavioral health treatments.
  • Work with regional center staff and service providers to ensure appropriate, evidence-based, and quality services.
  • Responsible for conducting quality assurance assessments relating to client developmental center/community transitions, and other behavioral services.
  • Monitor and evaluate behavioral services provided in the CCH, EBSH and DESP homes, at least monthly or as needed.
  • Review and report on the status of the Individual Behavioral Support Plans objectives, for clients in the CCH, EBSH and DESP homes, at least monthly or as needed.
  • Review all Admission Packets for the CCH, EBSH and DESP facilities for appropriateness of placement.
  • Work with the Quality Assurance Unit and the placing of regional center consumers to meet the needs of the clients.
  • Act as a liaison to all stakeholders to include the Department of Developmental Services, Community Care Licensing, Department of Mental Health, Law Enforcement and Vendor(s) of Crisis Services.
  • Evaluate the behavioral needs of clients residing in the DCs, who need assessment for discharge to the community, under the Community Placement Plan, in coordination with the State Developmental Center Unit. Complete the Comprehensive Assessment for each client who will transition.
  • Provide evaluation of behavioral needs of clients in Mental Health Facilities or Locked Settings, as it specifically relates to discharge into the community.
  • Consult with the Resource Development Unit in creation of Request for Proposals, as it relates to the community placement plan.
  • Assist the Resource Development Unit in creating innovative and needed behavioral health services, for clients that are difficult to serve in the community.
  • Consult with the IRC Behavior Specialist, as needed.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Requirements:

Masters degree in Psychology or related field.
Certified by the National Behavior Analyst Certification Board as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Minimum of 2-3 years experience in the design and implementation of behavioral intervention services.
At least 2-3 years experience working with individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities.
Experience working in collaboration with school districts, ABA companies and/or providers who provide direct services for individuals with developmental disabilities
Ability to handle change well and be flexible and adaptable in dealing with interruptions, new priorities, and new assignments.
Ability to follow oral and written direction.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Full use of an automobile, possession of a valid driver's license and liability insurance for the minimum amount prescribed by law or ability to provide for independent transportation. Must have and maintain a safe driving record.

Compensation: $3,321.60 - $4,452.00 bi-weekly
