Summary

ValidaTek is seeking a Configuration Management Analyst to support an exciting new program for Soft Switch Backbone (SSBB) Modernization (SSBM) for DISA. This is a brand new program to design, engineer, and deliver a modernized SSBB to replace the current operational SSBB that has reached end-of-life. This program will provide all engineering and related support necessary to develop a SIP (Session Initiated Protocol)-based policy engine routing solution that can ensure continuity of operations in the event of a single policy engine and/or SBC failure. Support for this effort is largely remote with occasional on-site support at DISA HQ, Ft. Meade, MD.

Provides Configuration Management (CM) support for the customer's software baseline control efforts. Maintains the baseline using automated CM tools. Responsible for maintaining project software and documentation inventory and configuration baselines. Establishes and maintains the CM processes and procedures. Defines and implements procedures for releasing products throughout the whole product life cycle. Serves on the Configuration Control Board (CCB). Produces builds of products for use in testing and in production; identifies and implements processes to strengthen, streamline and automate build processes; serves as an advocate for best practices; drives the development and maintenance of build automation tools; maintains the source code change control; performs distribution partner and corporate client set-ups. 

Responsibilities

• Performs software deficiency and change request updates and reporting. • Maintain the project notebook library and software development folders. • Track and maintain the project change requests, impact assessments, incident reports, and software change notices on a continuous basis. • Measure and report on success metrics benchmarking performance against world class measures. • Support management with technical performance data from the CM process.• Communicates system configuration status to management and client on regular basis. • Maintain and enforce configuration management policies and procedures. • Develop best practices to improve integrity and quality of configuration processes. • Assist in configuration audits and communicates audit recommendations to managers. • Oversee system configurations and migrations in multiple environments. • Attend customer meetings, kick-off meetings, configuration meetings, and production meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• DoD Secret clearance• Five years of configuration management experience in federal IT environments – ideally with a concentration on software development projects.• Knowledge of both IP and Transport networked equipment.• Minimum DOD 8140/DOD 8570 IAT Level I Certification – Security • Strong proficiency with Windows base applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
