The Medical Assistant is responsible for a variety of patient care, technical, and clerical related functions. The Medical Assistant is responsible for the clinic patient flow by assisting members of the patient care team and providing a broad range of health care services.
As a member of the patient care team, the Medical Assistant is also aware of the psychosocial needs of patients and families
Medical Assistants and other skilled assistants can be involved in patient care under the supervision of a licensed physician as long as they are not performing a task that requires a license ( e.
g. MD,RN NP, PA). The intent of the regulation is to prohibit unlicensed or formerly licensed persons from performing activities requiring a license to practice medicine.
Delegation of medical services is not permitted to individuals not licensed to perform that medical service

High school diploma or equivalent- REQUIRED
1 year experience as a Certified Medical Assistant- REQUIRED
Must be certified as a CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA
