  • Position Summary

    In support of US Sailing's mission to grow and strengthen the sport of sailing, the Membership Accounts and Programs Coordinator will be responsible for building, facilitating, and maintaining relationships with Local Sailing Organizations (LSO), growing US Sailing's Organizational Membership program, and working collaboratively with the adult and youth program departments.

    This role requires a proactive professional with the ability to build and cultivate strong, productive relationships with local sailing organizations, including yacht clubs and community sailing centers.

    This position requires a broad understanding of US Sailing's products, services and operations, a commitment to providing a first-class member experience and the ability to promote US Sailing to LSOs, building a national presence and market for US Sailing.

    Excellent customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills with precise attention to detail are required.

    What you'll be doing :

    • Collaborate across all departments to provide access and information on US Sailing's diverse portfolio of programs, products and services utilizing US Sailing's website, social media, events, personal contacts, in-house staff and field representatives / volunteers
    • Build, facilitate and maintain relationships with LSO's and US Sailing's organizational members by establishing regular communication.
    • Ideate, manage, and grow the organizational and youth membership programs.
    • Facilitate communication between organizations seeking resources from other organizations.
    • Develop, manage, and execute the activation for programs such as the (MVP) Member Value Program
    • Track and maintain credits / redemption for the Member Value Program (MVP)
    • Oversee the Skill Up program onboarding members and driving interest and adoption.
    • Assist in the development and roll out of new programs focused on organizational and youth member acquisition, retention, and engagement.
    • Support the team with direct customer service and response to members.
    • Provide weekly organizational and youth membership tracking and reports to be shared with US Sailing leadership.
    • Direct work with our current Sailor Base database system to manage organizational member efforts.

    Who you are :

    • Minimum of 1 year of database experience
    • Degree in business, marketing, communications, public relations, advertising preferred
    • Possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and be process oriented
    • Possess strong written and oral communications skills, specifically writing letters / emails, public speaking, and comfortable speaking on the telephone
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Work PowerPoint), standard web content management systems and database applications
    • Possess strong problem-solving skills and follow through on projects and tasks
    • Belief in the Olympic movement
    • Appreciation for the sport of sailing
    • Knowledge of the sailing industry is a plus
