USPRO is Hiring an Assembler - 2nd Shift Near Austin, TX

Duration: 6 month contract (temp to perm)
2nd Shift (Mon – Thurs 4:15pm – 2.45am)
Responsibilities:

  • Assembling electronic components, assemblies, subassemblies, and modules by working from samples, visual aids, prints, wiring lists and diagrams, routing instructions and process sheets using appropriate tooling and equipment.
  • Must have the ability to work from engineering drawings and read/follow system schematics. Working independently and in a team environment with supervision. Performs electronic and mechanical assembly operations such as wire termination, installation of wire harness, cable assemblies, value torquing and extensive attention to detail.
  • Collaboration with team members and engineering team to produce quality products.
  • Assembles, disassembles, and modifies various production subassembly by following work plans. Inspects result to ensure conformance to J-STD & IPC-610 standards. You will also be supporting various production and prototype projects by using electronic/electrical assembly skills to complete production assembly operations on electronic/electrical and mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies such as modules, circuit boards, and connector panels.
  • Inspects, adjusts and certifies moderately complex assemblies, subassemblies, parts and systems for compliance with specifications and quality assurance practices following blueprints, schematics and inspection manuals using hand tools and precision testing equipment.
  • Collaborates with engineering, drafting, and quality assurance to obtain clarification, resolve issues, and improve processes.
  • Required to work closely with Quality Control to ensure that high standards of quality are met and will work with Engineering to help resolve technical issues and address quality concerns.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Require High School Diploma, Trade School or GED and 4 year(s) related experience.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to focus on tasking with fine attention to detail. Experience working with a microscope.
  • Must have experience assembling small devices, wiring/soldering, and harness and cabling.
  • Knowledge must be sufficient to coordinate and work with production operations, engineering, and personnel in related fields as required and to plan, accomplish, and analyze results.
  • Skilled in the interpretation of technical data such as drawings, schematics, blueprints, and specifications of complete electronic systems.
  • Thorough understanding of electronics fundamentals to include operation and identification of active and passive components like resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, transistors, relays, and transformers.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Ability to become solder certified.
  • Requires High School Diploma, Trade School or GED and 4 year(s) related experience.
  • Ability to communicate well with others.
  • Perform mechanical assembly operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions.
  • Obtain and hold ESD, Material Handling, and Solder Certifications.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects.
  • Ability to use various crimping tools.
  • One to three years' experience as an electronic assembler preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Soldering Experience Per J-STD-001 and Mil. Standard IPC-A-610.
  • Experience & knowledge of soldering with wire, terminal, through hole PCB, and surface mount Perform solder and crimping as required by specifications.
  • May operate spray guns, air brushes, stencil cutting machines and other lettering equipment.
  • Conformal Coat, potting and/or encapsulation experience helpful.
  • Experienced in electronic mechanical assembly.
  • Performs advanced, diversified solder and electrical/electronic assembly operations to build detailed assemblies to meet specification requirements.
  • Exerts occasional physical energy.
  • Occasional bending, reaching, stooping.
  • May stand for considerable lengths of time.
