Job SummaryManages the College of Nursing and Health Profession (CNHP) Clinical Simulation Center. Assures the effective and efficient operation of the Clinical Simulation Center, assesses and provides recommendations for meeting program and student needs, and oversees the operation of high and medium fidelity technology to ensure safe and effective use of the simulation equipment. The individual in this position is expected to be present and available throughout the year during the normal business hours of the CNHP and will have arranged work obligations outside of the CNHP’s normal business hours. This position collaborates with the Simulation and Information Technology Specialist and the Assistant to the Dean for Technology and Communication.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develops, implements, updates, and monitors simulation lab policies, procedures, use, and operation in collaboration with the Dean and faculty
  2. Monitors and schedules use, signing out, and movement of simulation lab equipment
  3. Maintains the lab inventory (supplies, props etc.), ensures the safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials
  4. Monitors and assures appropriate standards of lab cleanliness and collaborates with appropriate college staff regarding equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement
  5. Orients instructors and students in lab procedures, location and use of materials, and operation of equipment as applicable
  6. Responsible for business development of the simulation lab, establishes community partners, develops income generated projects, seeks grants and other funding sources, and formulates budget recommendations
  7. Prepares equipment and supplies for faculty-led simulation and lab experiences, assists faculty with simulation as needed, assists students during practice sessions in the simulation lab, performs remediation with students in skills area,
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.
