JOB DESCRIPTION: Purpose of Role People Operations Generalist will support and delivery HR Services to our internal customers in North America, being the main point of contact for the employees, advising and supporting them in all regards to the employee lifecycle, and processing their requests. There will be a particular focus in the areas of Benefits Management, New Hires, Terminations, Internal Movements and others related. Responsibilities Provide specific advice and guidance and counsel employees on a variety of HR issues to ensure fair and consistent treatment across the organization and to ensure departments are equipped to deal with changing business requirements/growth. These issues include HR policies, legislation, changing terms and conditions, benefits, career development, disciplinary issues, absence and performance issues, individual counseling and terminations. Country expert, ensuring compliance with all regulatory, legal and internal requirements. HRIS – Process salary changes, new hires, terminations, and promotions/transfers/lateral movements in HR database system (Workday) New hire documentation, communication with the new employee, managers instructions and conduct the HR induction session. Ensure that involuntary terminations are in line with country regulations/requirements to avoid labor liability. Hands-on plan design and administration for the following group benefits programs: group medical, dental, vision, life insurance, accidental death & dismemberment, voluntary life and disability, short-term disability, long-term disability, HSA, EAP, workers’ compensation, health and dependent care, flexible accounts and 401(k) for all US and Canada locations Review monthly benefits invoices for accuracy and work with carriers to make corrections. Compile data for self-report benefits invoices. Assures company compliance with all local laws, regulations and reports pertaining to group health and welfare plans including ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, etc. Reviews and analyzes changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits, and reports necessary or suggested changes to Management Manage annual benefits contract renewals by collecting experience data and examining possible plan designs Manages the Company’s Leave of Absence and Worker’s Compensation claims programs. Provides support to managers in different locations. Completes timely notification, documentation, eligibility review, and benefit coordination. Handle all employee benefits-related communications pertaining to plan changes, updated information, etc. (and other necessary communication to the region) Skills Strong People operations background, diligent and analytical. Detailed-oriented and demonstrated ability to work with highly confidential information. Excellent communication and influencing skills, to be able to establish close relations at in the organization and with providers. Customer focused Pragmatic and solution orientated Proficient in English language, Spanish/Portuguese languages will be a plus. Experience Requires a minimum of 3-5 years of HR generalist role and benefits management, preferably in an organization with locations in multiple sites/states In-depth knowledge on US/Canada countries (Latam countries is welcome too) Experience with Workday HRIS system Strong proficiency in MS Office, with an advanced skill level in Excel Qualifications Bachelor's degree Knowledge of applicable international laws and regulations e.g., ERISA, DOL, IRS, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Healthcare Reform, Section 125 and 401(k) is essential.
