US Treasury, Departmental Offices is Hiring an Information Technology Specialist Near Washington, DC

Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

  • Support a full range of secure IT business analyst and design functions to include analyzing the IT requirements necessary to meet user needs within the assigned area of responsibility; planning, designing, developing, and implementing secure, cost-effective, user-centric IT solutions that are consistent with Federal and Department of Treasury guidelines and standards.
  • Responsible for planning, designing, developing, and implementing secure, cost-effective IT solutions that best satisfy user needs that are consistent with the Federal and Department of the Treasury guidelines and standards.
  • Evaluate new applications software technologies for evolving important missions. Provide application consulting, advice, planning guidance, and quality assurance to the development team on software design options and solutions.

Key Requirements:

  • Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
  • All new hires will be required to comply with federal ethics laws. A review of financial or other interests may be conducted to determine if they create any real or apparent conflict of interests with official Treasury duties.
  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
  • Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
  • Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9. Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S.
  • File a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on.
  • Undergo an income tax verification.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Specialized experience for the GS-14: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service, public or other private sectors. Specialized experience for this position includes all of the following:
  • Experience with direct responsibility for and delivery of a SaaS Platform Applications (ServiceNow HR Service Delivery (HRSD), SAP) or Human Capital IT based on Oracle PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) to include PeopleSoft HCM, Version 9.2; AND
  • Experience delivering ServiceNow service delivery Apps or Human Capital information technology; AND
  • Experience with the Agile, DevOps, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), or another System Development Lifecycle Model.
Specialized experience for the GS-13: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service, public or other private sectors. Specialized experience for this position includes all of the following:
  • Experience with Human Capital IT based SaaS Platform Applications (ServiceNow HR Service Delivery (HRSD), SAP), PeopleSoft HCM, version 9.2 , or HRConnect; AND
  • Experience delivering Human Capital information technology services to one or more agencies with multiple employee types (permanent, temporary, contractors, etc.) and pay structures.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resumé.
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

  • Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
