US Nuclear Regulatory Commission is Hiring a Support Services Assistant Near Lisle, IL

Duties

Performs a full range of activities to support regional, divisional, and branch objectives including oversight of regional and resident inspector office property and supply functions, space management, records management, and coordination of property inventory functions. Responsible for bank card purchases, including purchasing office supply items and reviewing procurement requests to determine availability of requested items. Handles facility operational needs, including shipping and receiving, general maintenance, conference room setups, internal moves, stocking breakrooms and self-supply room. Serves as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) on various contracts and or purchases orders. Responsible for the administration and coordination of the Regional Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) activities.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must have at least one year specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as: Demonstrated experience performing a wide range of activities such as oversight and purchasing of property and supply items, reviewing procurement requests, space management, records management, coordination Experience in administration and coordination of FOIA. The ideal candidate for this position must demonstrate in their resume:

Knowledge of the NRC's organization and administrative management functions such as the FOIA Program.

Knowledge of government regulations and procedures governing property activities.

Knowledge of financial management procedures to effectively control funds and estimate requirements.

Demonstrate skills in communicating information, ideas, and advice in a clear, concise, and logical manner, both orally in in writing.

Must be able to lift between 50 and 75 lbs.

THE MAJORITY OF WORK IS NOT PORTABLE AND MUST BE COMPLETED ONSITE IN LISLE, IL.

If a wavier is granted, the successful completion of a background investigation and favorable adjudication is required for continued employment. If you have resided outside the U.S. for an extended period of time, the agency may not be able to (1) grant the 145(b) waiver where the required investigation cannot be completed in a timely manner, or (2) achieve timely completion of the background investigation required for a security clearance.
The NRC is a zero tolerance agency with respect to illegal drug use. Individuals selected for this position will be subject to pre-appointment drug testing unless currently in a NRC position subject to random drug testing AND will be subject to random drug testing upon appointment to the NRC.
