You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the federal government.
Specialized experience is significant experience providing legal advice and support on matters related to acquisition and procurement issues. In the context of major acquisition program accountability and risk management, acquisition is not equivalent to procurement. Applicants should have demonstrated experience applying knowledge of the DHS acquisition lifecycle framework (ALF) and associated Acquisition Management Directive and Agency Instructions, or equivalent big "A" acquisition frameworks at other agencies such as DoD's Adaptive Acquisition Framework; while knowledge of and experience applying concepts from the DHS Directive 102-01 and DHS Instruction 102-01-001, Acquisition Management are preferred, knowledge and experience working with similar acquisition program policies is acceptable. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
