US Department of the Air Force - Agency Wide is Hiring an INTELLIGENCE RESEARCH SPECIALIST Near Salt Lake, UT

Duties

DUTY 1: Serves as a sensitive activities specialist. Serves as a sensitive activities specialist responsible for providing subject-matter expertise for operational planning and execution.
DUTY 2: Serves as management support. Provides technical expertise; and performs a wide variety of functions while performing fmancial operations, interagency and commercial entity coordination, liaison, and project development and management with the specialized community, Department of Defense (DoD), and other US Government agencies.
DUTY 3: Serves as a sensitive activities support officer. Accomplishes difficult projects, programs, or assignments related to evaluating and reviewing tools and techniques.
DUTY 4: Serves as a project development expert. Guides new initiatives and programs toward a desired end-state. Develops and/or reviews plans in coordination with DoD and interagency elements in support of validated requirements.

  • All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
  • Position is designated special-sensitive, incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

  • This posn is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program

  • This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
  • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions
This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Having the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles, and practices in a professional or administrative occupation, such as would be gained through extended graduate study or experience and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex work assignments; or a comprehensive, intensive, practical knowledge of a technical field and skill in applying this knowledge to the development of new methods, approaches, or procedures. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of all aspects of worldwide sensitive activities and employment mission requirements, including offensive and defensive employment operations for all air assets.
2. Knowledge of joint special operations doctrine to include domestic and overseas command relationships with the ability to interpret and evaluate sensitive activity guidance and applications.
3. Knowledge of DoD and USAF polices on special access programs controls and procedures, document control and accountability.
4. Skill and ability to develop, analyze, and evaluate policies, programs, standards, and procedures to meet classified mission requirements.
5. Ability to communicate orally and in writing clearly, concisely, and accurately.
6. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers, high-ranking officials, and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
Conditions of Employment Continued:
1. This position is emergency-essential. In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent, or designated alternate, must continue to perform the Emergency-Essential duties until relieved by proper authority. The incumbent or the designated alternate may be required to take part in readiness exercises. This position cannot be vacated during national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively. This meets the criteria of an Emergency-Essential position and requires that the incumbent, or the designated alternate, be removed from any military recall status. Employee must sign DD Form 2365 as a condition of employment.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
