POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for selling our neuroscience research equipment to neuroscience research teams in academic institutions around the world who are engaged in small animal, primate or human neuroscience research. It is part of a collaborative sales and support team that works together to meet the needs of our customers. The Research Sales Specialist II level requires prior sales experience. Understanding both the technology and the neuroscience is needed to be able to configure research systems and make suggestions to help customers acquire the best system for their needs. The role is responsible for meeting sales targets and delivering excellent customer satisfaction.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferred) in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering.
• Solid understanding of neuroscience research.
• 2 years of sales experience, preferably in the life sciences, research or medtech industries selling to academic institutions.
• Demonstrated proficiency in account management, and full cycle sales from prospecting, qualification, meetings, solution identification, demonstrations, negotiation and closing.
• Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets and drive growth in a market segment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Responsible for full cycle sales of electrophysiology equipment to academic labs in North American and European markets.
• Support other sales activities in other parts of the world as needed as a member of the sales team.
• Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships.
• Communicate effectively with customers who are typically neuroscience researchers, neurologists, or neurosurgeons in person and in writing.
• Effective communication and collaboration with cross functional team members inside Blackrock.
• Administrative tasks including preparation of presentations, sales forecasts, detailed customer follow up, account planning, and CRM updates.
• Creation of complex system solutions involving off the shelf and custom Blackrock products.
• Collaboration with engineering teams on product customization.
• Collaboration with other team members who have additional or specific expertise.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Physical and other requirements

• Ability to travel up to 25% at times.
• Ability to navigate a neuroscience lab environment, carry small equipment.
• Ability to work in office in Salt Lake City, Utah 80% of the time
