US Commander, Navy Installations is Hiring a Recreation Assistant Near Honolulu, HI

Duties

  • Provides customer service, information and support of Golf Recreation programs and activities. Service to MWR customer includes, but is not limited to: checking patron eligibility to ensure authorized use of recreation facilities, resources and equipment, providing information about activities and program offerings, opening and closing facilities.
  • Actively supports the command statement on adherence to EEO principles and policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned as they pertain to the duties of this position.
  • Performs and/or assists in the operation of the recreation activity which may include a variety of duties in support of the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Golf Community program. Based on established policies, incumbent carries out assigned phases of designated activity applying an understanding of the interest and needs of the program participants. Assignments may include : establishing schedules of events: applying rules and regulations. Demonstrates procedures common to the activities, and instructs in the use of related equipment.
    May oversee sale of retail items associated with activities. Ensures adherence to safety rules and regulations.
    Performs other related duties assigned.

Requirements

Conditions of Employment

  • Must pass all applicable records and background investigation.
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license within 90 days of being placed in the position in order to transport patrons off-base.
  • Must be C.A.R.E. (Controlling Alcohol Risks Effectively) training, hold an Emergency First Responder (EFR) or CPR First Aid certification upon being placed in the position OR be able to obtain these trainings/certifications within 90 days.
  • Must hold a current Food Handler Certification, upon being placed in the position OR be able to obtain these trainings/certifications within 90 days of being placed in the position.

Qualifications

  • Combination of experience related to customer service and or recreation activity based functions.
  • Must be able to work independently, make sound decisions and have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Must have strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of computers, office procedures and print production.

Education

This position does not have a positive education requirement.

Additional information

Salary is dependent on experience and/or education.
Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period. Participation in Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within the first 30 days of employment is required. We utilize E-Verify to confirm selectee's eligibility to work in the United States.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
