Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Market Associate. As a Market Associate, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service and driving sales in our market locations. You will be located in prime retail locations across Brooklyn and Manhattan, both indoor and outdoor, so having a strong and enthusiastic drive for success is what we seek. COMPETENCIES:

• Provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers with their inquiries, product recommendations, and purchases
• Demonstrate and explain the features and benefits of various products
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and customer service skills
• Process cash transactions accurately and efficiently and maintain a balanced register
• Maintain a clean and organized sales floor
• Load, unload, stock, organize, and transport market inventory for sale at the market
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of tents and tables for the URBN ELEMNTS market; provide vendor support with setup and breakdown assistance as needed
• Familiarity with Brooklyn & Manhattan NY area preferred
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions required
• Valid driver's license required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs throughout the day
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods (i.e. 6-8 hours) and in most climates, excluding severe weather
• Ability to work a flexible schedule; early morning and weekend schedule availability as required (Markets will take place on Saturdays, but sometimes Saturday Sundays, and sometimes Monday - Friday)
• Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality, particularly with client information
• Conversational English/Spanish speaker preferred

Experience:

• Previous experience in customer service or sales is required
• Previous experience in selling at Pop Up Events or Outdoor Markets is preferred
• Knowledge of wireless technology and electronics sales is a plus (Selling through a POS system)
• Strong cash handling skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 40 per week
