Summary of duties: Analyze performance, risk, liquidity and cash management across portfolios by applying statistical and computer techniques to real financial data and live portfolios to aid fund managers’ real-time decision making. Partner with senior risk managers to help ensure that the risks are fully understood by Portfolio Management and are consistent with our clients’ objectives and risk constraints. Develop a thorough understanding of investments and trades to assess investment risks. Regularly monitor risks in the portfolios and presenting pertinent analyses on markets, portfolio risk and performance drivers to portfolio management teams. Research and assess how macroeconomic factors drive the investment decision-making process. Assist portfolio managers with portfolio construction and scenario analysis. Define analytical and risk management’s development needs for adequately monitoring risks.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related quantitative field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or as an Analyst, Data Analyst or related. Must have experience with the following: R and Python; risk management principles including risk estimation methodologies, stress testing and attribution; security and portfolio analytics; Equity risk modeling, valuation and analytics; Statistical Inference, e.g. Hypothesis Testing; SQL and Sybase management; Financial model validation and back testing; Portfolio optimization and stochastic modeling; Equity options valuation and pricing.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $122,400 – $147,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
