Summary
Miriam High School is seeking a dynamic and engaged Humanities Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate would bring a collaborative mindset and the adaptability to serve students with diverse learning needs utilizing a student-centered approach. The position includes teaching English, History, and elective courses as well as our Miriam Essentials curriculum within small class sizes (average of 10 students). Preference is given to teachers with existing special education certification or the willingness to obtain certification as well as experience with providing accommodations and differentiation in reading and writing. The Humanities Teacher administers the instructional program and classroom operation in compliance with guidelines and regulations determined by the administration, Board of Directors, state and federal agencies.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and crawling all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
