Job Description Bookkeeper – Part time Non-Exempt
Summary:
The bookkeeper job duties include working closely with our third part accounting firm and the Owner to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal compliance. This person will process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices, tax payments and Quickbooks.. Our ideal candidate holds a financial degree and is familiar with accounting software QuickBooks and Dext. This position is part-time 18-24 hours per week., based in Rochester NY.
Ultimately, the Bookkeeper’s responsibility is to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of the company and create various monthly reports.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
· Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process in QuickBooks.
· Verify that transactions are recorded in the general ledger, including payroll.
· Complete tax forms
· Performs Credit Card and bank statement reconciliation.
· Enter data, maintain records, and create reports including financial statements.
· Create accounts receivable/payable reports monthly.
· Communicate in a timely matter all past due payments and receivables.
· Performs special projects and duties as assigned.
· Support the creation of monthly and yearly budgets.
Experience
· Proven bookkeeping experience
· Solid understanding of the basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
· Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
· Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial analysis
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Education/Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration
Physical requirements
Position will not require physical activities on a regular basis.
Schedule/Hours
This is a part-time position of approximately 20-25 hours. Days of the week and length of the day is negotiable.
