Donia is Hiring a Bookkeeper/Audit Clerk Near Rochester, NY

Summary: The Associate Accountant is responsible for performing accounting and related tasks across a variety of areas within the Accounting function

Job Title: Bookkeeper/Audit Clerk

Location: Rochester, NY 14609

Target Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM

Target Duration/End Date: April 2025

Description of Roles and Responsibilities:

· Review and enter all RTS Access, RTS Regional Operations and Genesee Transportation Council invoices for payment

· Enter vendor wire payments and wage garnishments into Lawson for all companies

· Enter and cut checks for Capital invoices monthly

· Perform deposits on a weekly basis for both RTS and regionals

· Respond to inquiries from internal customers and external vendors

· Prepare and mail vendor checks

· Establish, update, and maintain vendor records in Lawson

· Prepare monthly travel card reconciliation spreadsheet

· Process weekly workers’ compensation payments

· Perform monthly Regional vendor accruals and bank reconciliations

· Process fare media orders, returns/refunds and exchanges

· Other duties, as assigned

Mandatory/Minimum Qualification, Skills, Experience Requirements:

Four-year degree in Accounting or related field. A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in Accounting or related field

Qualification, Skills, Experience Requirements:

· Working knowledge of modern methods of keeping and reviewing financial accounts and records including financial software

· Working knowledge of office terminology, procedures, and equipment

· Working knowledge of business English

· Working knowledge of an alphanumeric keyboard

· Skill in the operation of a keyboard

· Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions

· Ability to make arithmetical -computations rapidly and accurately

· Ability to write legibly

· Ability to operate a personal computer and utilize common office software programs including word processing, spreadsheet, or data- bases

· Ability to get along well with others; Clerical aptitude; Mental alertness; Neatness; A high degree of accuracy; Integrity; Tact

Extended Qualifications:

· Ability to perform a variety of routine duties involving the use of procedures and the application of clearly prescribed standard practice where the employee could make minor decisions and use some judgment

· Ability to work from objectives defined by supervisor or by explicit procedures and rules

· Proceeds alone on routine work and refers questionable cases to supervisor

· Finished work not regularly reviewed by supervisor

· Performance of tasks and activities are reviewed by supervisor on a scheduled basis

· Strong computer skills, including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with a diverse workforce

· Strong time management skills: ability to multi-task, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
