Upslope Brewing Company is Hiring a Taproom Bartender (Part Time) Near Boulder, CO

Tap Room Bartender

The Taproom Bartender is responsible for the guest experience at both of our taprooms located in Boulder, Colorado. This employee will assist in maintaining the taproom environment, providing top-notch customer service, and will seek to continually build the Upslope brand throughout all of their interactions with our customer base.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Provide guests at our taprooms with excellent service while acting as the front line of our brand.
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service at all times.
  • Anticipate the guests’ needs before they are aware of them, and provide a hospitable experience for all customers.
  • Provide table service (taking drink orders, bussing tables, and building rapport with guests).
  • Work closely with The Mighty Burger (restaurant at Flatiron Park) to meet guests’ needs regarding food service.
  • Operate point of sale system, and properly handle cash and credit card transactions.
  • Collaborate with a team of individuals focused on team goals.
  • Be able to educate patrons on craft beer, our industry, our company, and our facilities.
  • Properly perform opening and closing duties of both taprooms.
  • Assist in company-held events such as our Anniversary Party, The Upslope Get Down, The Backcountry Taproom and other onsite events as assigned.
  • Act as a point person and provide necessary assistance to all private events held at the brewery.
  • Assist all partners in donation beer pick-ups.
  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled company-wide and department meetings.
  • Maintain cleanliness of taprooms and participate in monthly deep cleans.
  • Properly change kegs and complete necessary forms for keg sales, returns, and tappings.
  • Provide fun and engaging facility tours while telling the Upslope story.
  • Develop an understanding of draft line maintenance and operations, and demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot draft line issues.
  • Properly prepare and serve food items (at Lee Hill taproom) while following proper safe food handling practices.
  • Actively pursue continued beer education through training programs.
  • Maintain a stocked beer cooler and merchandise display.
  • Maintain proper communication channels with all departments in the company.
  • Work with the QA/QC department to ensure the quality of all beer being served through both taprooms.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as requested.
Work Time/Availability:
  • This is a part-time position (up to 25 hours a week).
  • Flexibility with scheduling (including weekends, weekdays, holidays, days, and nights) and ability to work a minimum of two shifts a week is required

Qualifications/Position Requirements and Specifications:
  • Ability to spend eight or more hours on your feet, working the floor.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Demonstrate good judgment while serving alcohol to customers and fellow employees.
  • Ability to leave a bad day at the door - remain on point at all times for our guests.
  • Maintain calmness and tactfulness at stressful, high-volume times.
  • Must be enthusiastic, engaging, well-organized, and self-motivated.
Desired/Preferred, but Not Required:
  • Prior knowledge/experience in a customer service environment.
  • Prior knowledge/experience in craft beer.
